Frankfurt Coach Tour - 2.5 hours

Frankfurt Tourist + Congress Board is offering free city tours to IMEX participants and exhibitors.

Free guided coach tours of Frankfurt open to all IMEX participants will take place on:

Monday 20 May 2013 and Friday 24 May 2013

The tour presents Frankfurt as a city where modern architecture and historic sights stand side by side in harmonic juxtaposition.

It will start and end at the main train station and will take you along the river to Sachsenhausen where the city's traditional apple wine is made, on to the centre and the Kaiserdom (cathedral), then to historic Römerberg and past Goethe-Haus, where one of Germany's most famous poets was born, to the tallest observation deck in the city - the Main Tower, where you'll have time to enjoy the view over Frankfurt. On the way back you'll go past the opera house and the botanical gardens - the Palmengarten.

Frankfurt Skyscraper Festival, 25-26 May

Frankfurt Tourist Office is offering special packages for all IMEX participants to take advantage of this very special event. The Frankfurt Skyscraper Festival is taking place the weekend after IMEX 2013, where you will have the opportunity to marvel at Frankfurt’s skyline from high above.

One and two night packages are available from 69 EUROS per person in a double room. Booking conditions apply.

For Hosted Buyer Groups - Free Walking Tour

The Frankfurt Convention Bureau is offering free guided walking tours of Frankfurt
to IMEX hosted buyer groups.

The tour will start at Alte Oper, Frankfurt's old opera house, and will take in the Fressgass, Frankfurt's culinary mile, go past the German Stock Exchange to the Hauptwache, the start of the Zeil shopping promenade, before going on to Neue Krame, past Katharinenkirche, Liebfrauenkirche and St Paul's Church, site of Germany's first national assembly in 1848.

The tour will also take in the Roemer (Frankfurt's town hall) and the Kaiserdom, or Emperor's Cathedral, the former coronation site for German kings and emperors.

From the Romer the tour will head along the Main river ending on the Eiserne Steg footbridge which offers a great view of the Frankfurt skyline and the Museum Embankment in Sachsenhausen.
