Seminars
Some highlights of the seminars that took place on the Professional Development and Innovation Pavilion at IMEX 2011 include: 'A Master Class in Blending Live with Online Technology, presented in association with Eventia' - Anthony Miller, Director of Strategy, Active Network Events, Simon Hughes, Director Live Events, COI. This seminar was designed specifically to educate senior live marketing professionals within corporate, association, public sector and event agencies; and provided great insights into the challenge of creating digital platforms that extend the event beyond the day itself.
'How the Mobile Phone Changed the World (and not just the one you live in)' - David Snell, Chief Marketing Officer, QuickMobile. As more content moves from your desktop computer to your mobile phone, how do we predict what will happen next, and keep up with the ever-changing mobile market? In this ‘non-technical’ easy-to-understand seminar, David Snell explained how we got so reliant on our mobile phones, and how they’re revolutionising not just the world we live, but more importantly, their enormous impact on development in emerging economies.
Campfires
New for 2011 more intimate sessions called ‘campfires’ were launched – these consisted of small circles of up to 12 people, and covered a variety of subjects such as CV writing, ‘Personality Typing’ with Anne Holmes, 'Corporate Integrity – Get More Meaning into Your Professional Life' with Johanna Fischer, tmf dialogmarketing GmbH, ‘PR for Beginners,’ with Linda Roberts and ‘Managing Work Life Balance’ with Innersense.
"The ‘campfire’ concept is excellent, with the small group format ensuring that everyone engages properly to get best value from the discussion." "The concentrated ‘campfire’ concept is excellent." |
