2012 marks the 10th anniversary of IMEX and to celebrate we have planned a truly unique experience, with fresh thinking, innovations, additions and improvements for buyers and exhibitors alike. New and Expanded Exhibitors
Hundreds of new exhibitors, including 47 new stands, will be attending IMEX 2012. Many of our largest exhibitors are increasing their stand space from all sectors of the industry. Highlights include:
- More technology exhibitors than ever before with an expanded Technology Pavilion and Tech Tap
- More US exhibitors including, for the first time, San Francisco, Detroit and Pittsburgh
- More exhibitors from destinations as diverse as Brazil, Colombia, Costa Rica, Croatia, Paris, Moscow, Slovakia, Sri Lanka and Turkey, amongst others

New Attractions and Education (IMEX Vision)
Take part in IMEX's Vision initiatives and outstanding educational line-up featuring over 130 FREE sessions and workshops offering 8 different tracks of learning. Expect fresh perspectives, cutting-edge thinking and the latest developments. Highlights of the 2012 programme include:
Education:
- New Visionary Events Series: showcasing how you can learn from events that have pushed the boundaries of the meetings industry
- Association Day, Monday 21 May: a NEW programme features over double the number of sessions in 3 tracks for executive, operations and meetings staff. New session formats include peer-to-peer case studies, 3-hour deep dives, meet the expert consultations to panel discussions. See the outline programme here.
- New Hot Topic Campfires: Intimate 30 minute sessions on the show floor, allowing small groups the opportunity to discuss subject matter with experts and peers. New in 2012 these will be delivered on the Inspiration Centre, Sustainability Hub and Tech Tap. See more here.
- GCB Seminartage: The GCB's seminars run each show day in German. This year featuring famous footballer Jean-Marie Pfaff; plus Wednesday's Social Media day.
- Women's Leadership Forum: extending over 2 days and highlighting important issues about leadership in our industry. Open to all.
- Politicians Forum: now arguably one of the most important and influential events committed to highlighting the social and economic impact of business events on a destination - welcomes Rocco Forte as a keynote speaker, plus an outstanding line-up of politicians from across the world and key industry representatives. - iPad Bar: sponsored by QuickMobile and PSAV is designed to give quick, hands-on events and meetings app tuition.

Meetings Mindset: the Online Performance Centre has been improved and enhanced helping you to achieve your goals for the show. Login to find out more.

Meetology Laboratory: we’ll be conducting live psychological experiments on the show floor to prove why face to face meetings are best and why they achieve the best results. Look out for the 'Lab' and take 5 mins out of your day to take part.
Networking:
- IMEX Celebration Hour: Wednesday 23 May, 5 - 6pm - join IMEX exhibitors, buyers and the IMEX team in celebrating our 10 year anniversary at a special party on the show floor.
- Gala Dinner: celebrate 10 years of IMEX in style at the IMEX Gala Dinner. Taking place at the historic Alte Oper, featuring lots of surprises and back by popular demand – Björn Again! More info and to book.
Sustainability:
- Badge Back: we will be supporting 2 new charities in the local Frankfurt area through our ‘Badge Back’ scheme. Buyers, exhibitors and visitors are encouraged to recycle their badges in support of their favourite project. Look out for the special recyling bins throughout the show. See more here.

Power of 10 Research Project
To celebrate our 10 year anniversary, IMEX has commissioned a major research study from the team at Fast Future - producers of Convention 2020. The new study includes 100 phone interviews with industry leaders from across the world and from all sectors of the industry; the results of a global e-survey; plus a worldwide student essay competition. At the show, limited edition printed copies of the study will be distributed; plus don't miss Rohit Talwar's presentation of the results on Wednesday 23 May or Thursday 24 May.

New Services
- Free Wi-Fi: will be available to exhibitors, hosted buyers, visitors and press throughout the IMEX exhibition.
- IMEX TV: catch yourself on IMEX TV - watch out for the headlines from each day at the show delivered direct to your inbox or via the IMEX Smartphone App
